God creates the Body of Christ to be like interlocking puzzle pieces. Each of us is endowed with unique strengths. When members of the Body find their strengths and use their strengths, we become a force that can transform our community. Below are a handful of our ministries.
He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
We offer children's Bible study, children's church, and Vacation Bible School. Our children also participate in outreach initiatives such as passing out Thanksgiving "blessing bags" at our community soup kitchen and writing encouraging notes to the sick and shut it. Our children also presented notes of appreciation to the Freeport Police Department during our worship service. We are deliberate in finding creative ways for children to share their faith.

"If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead" (James 2:15-17). At Ebenezer, we desire a living faith. Our Community Service Department distributes clothing to those in need. We also run a Soup Kitchen where a delicious, healthy meal is served every Sunday. With God's help, we serve over 2,500 meals per year.
You're stronger than you think and more beautiful than you know. We exist to encourage, equip, promote, and challenge women in their journey to become fully developed disciples of Jesus Christ. Participate in our 40 Days Prayer Challenge, Teleconference Bible Study Group, annual Prayer Breakfast, Heart Disease and Breast Cancer Awareness events, Shoe Drive, Woman Wise Financial Workshop, Book Club, and more. Join us for outreach, service and discipleship. No matter what stage you are at in life, we welcome you with open arms.
Men doing ministry with and for men and the community--that's what Men's Ministries is all about. We strive to be godly husbands, fathers and role models through Bible studies, holding and attending men's retreats. We serve our community through events such as personal items distributions at the local men's shelter. We also have fun together at our regular luncheons and annual Super Bowl party. In today’s culture, we believe it’s increasingly important for men to honor God with their hearts and lives. Married, single, children or no children, there is a place here for you.
We have a nurse on duty every Saturday prepared to attend to any health emergencies that may arise during worship. In addition, our nurses visit the sick in hospitals and in their homes, and participated in our Mission Trip to Haiti. During our Community Health Fairs, Ebenezer partners with the local hospitals and health providers to provide free health screenings for the community including blood pressure checks, diabetes screening, cholesterol screenings and much more. We encourage healthy eating and regular exercise. "Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul" (3 John 1:2).
